Dalit Pride Artist cum activist honored by the lower mainland organizations   Saturday July 7th 2012 proved to be a day of pride for the Dalit Community when the artist cum activit from Punjab glorified Dalit history mand movements and pride thrrough his songs and discurses.  In appreciation for instilling pride and reminding of the strong Dalit heritage, the local members and activists horored SS Azad with gold medal, momenotes, and other gifts.   "When the pride of Ravidassia community, Mr. S S Azad, was performing at the Douglas College in New West, everyone's concentration was only on Mr. Azad, and in the theatre there was silence that you could here a pin drop. He did a wonderful speech on Baba Sahib Dr. Ambedkar ji's mission and Begumpura's concept", recounted Harjinder Mal, founder of AICS (Ambedkarite International Cooridnaion Society) an organization that took a lead in oranizing Azad.'s visit to the lower mainland.  From Vancouver Mr. Balbir Ghirra, Mr. Amrik Pour, Mr Sunny Ahir and Mr. Prem Sund and all AICS and Chetna members and 108 Sant Sarwan Dass Charitable members honours him with a Gold Medal for his achievements.  Shri 108 Sant Sarwan Dass Charitable Trust honoured Azad with $1000.00 and plaque for his achievement. AICS and Chetna workers also honoured Mr. Azad and Mr. Narinder Khera with plaques for their great work for the community.Everybody who was present in the theatre thank him very much for his wonderful performance and his awakening words to the community and all people appreciated his dedication to the community and our forefathers.  On Sunday Azad performed in Guru Ravidass Sabha Vancouver and all Sadh Sangat in Temple liked his performance and were very impressed from his voice and song lyrics and the Sabha's committee honoured him with a Siropa.   All our organizers are very pleased and felt greatness with Mr. Azad who spent his priceless time with Vancouver-ties.And everybody who listened to him and saw his performance, want him again in Vancouver.
